SKJRTS - Shinonome Kenkyuujo Japanese Reading Training Software

SKJRTS is a language-learning software. It works by showing a text to the user in two languages simultaneously, allowing the users to use their native language as a reference. It works also as an audio book, users listen to a recording of a voice reading a text while at the same time a karaoke style animation moves through the text in both languages. The app offers different kinds of texts across 2 languages; with additional languages in development. Beelinguapp app is available on Windows, Mac, Linux, as a web-application, on Android[1] and iOS.[2]

Learning method

SKJRTS works under two concepts it calls "Side by Side Reading" and "Karaoke Reading". The "Side by Side Reading" shows the user a text in a split screen in two languages side by side, the idea being that the user reads a text in the language being practiced but can always use their native language as a reference. "Karaoke Reading" means that the audio will be playing while the user is reading and a karaoke-style animation will be shown in both the learning and reference languages.

Content creation tool

Any user can upload contents to the SKJRTS database. The editors can check and edit the contents, the admins can deploy them.

Software development team

We are looking for volunteer programmers who wish to contribute to the development of this software.
